JoWomenomics (JW) is a Jordanian non-profit advancing an ecofeminist, care-based economy by shaping equitable policies, promoting safe and fair workplaces, and strengthening women’s agency and entrepreneurship—so women and young people can thrive while safeguarding nature and dignity for all.
Since 2014, JoWomenomics (JW) has strengthened the employability and entrepreneurship skills of more than 1,500 Jordanian and Syrian women across all governorates, helping them start, expand, and sustain their businesses. Working with 30 private-sector partners, JW delivers practical training in business planning, financial literacy, and marketing, complemented by mentorship and tailored support that helps women entrepreneurs overcome key barriers and access real opportunities.
To challenge harmful gender norms, JW has reached more than 4,000 community members through 52 dialogue sessions that encourage and normalize women’s economic participation. JW also advances policy and legal reform, contributing to amendments to labor legislation that introduced protections against workplace harassment and lifted restrictions on women’s working hours and access to certain sectors.
JW’s think tank, FICRI (Feminist Integrated Center for Research and Innovation), advances evidence-based solutions to systemic gender inequality through dialogue grounded in local knowledge and lived histories. FICRI is also the home of the IFREE model—the Integrated Framework for an Ecofeminist Economy—which was first developed there and now serves as the backbone of JoWomenomics’ programming and approach.

Guided by a visionary feminist ethos, the Feminist Integral Center for Research and Innovation (FICRI) aims to foster an ecosystem conducive to innovative policy reform, inclusive of gender equality and economic empowerment. FICRI seeks to achieve the following outcomes:
